OUR HUMBLE beginning. And still going strong. We still meet for coffee every month, now on the first Thursday of every month,  starting at 10am at the Starr King Room behind the Unitarian Universalists Fellowship Great Hall at 780 Del Monte Lane in Reno, 89511.

If you’d like to join us for good coffee and conversation, information and inspiration, sign up for monthly notices. We request a $5 donation to cover the cost of coffee and snacks.

Next coffee is 10am Thursday, July 3, 2025.

THIS IS WHERE things really took off. The green t-shirt is the key to our being noticed and effective. That said, any bright green shirt or blouse will also work.

As a basic guideline, we ask our followers to suit up and show up for ONE monthly council meeting, and then just for the first hour during the public comments period. This keeps us from burning out—although the comments period can be surprisingly entertaining.

Showing up for council meetings really matters. It’s effective, it’s entertaining, and it’s the right thing to do.  Sign up to receive important updates.

CONFAB 2024

THE ORIGINAL VISION for ConFab was an annual event of shared information, inspiration and entertainment for local climate-concerned groups, civic leaders, adults and students. While successful in many ways, we realized it needed to be scaled back and offered more often, in a smaller venue, to build a solid base for climate cross-pollination to flourish.

  • HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2024’s CONFAB. We opened with a social hour featuring homemade vegan treats followed by inspiring presentations, live music and an upbeat grand finale.

QUARTERLY CONFABS

WE LAUNCHED Quarterly ConFabs on May 8th, 2025. This is a more intimate gathering and much simpler production as Coffee ‘N Comics supplies the food, beverage and AV system. This way, we get to focus on local climate updates and actions.

Now offered on the second Thursday of every quarter at Coffee ‘N Comics, 940 West Moana Lane in Reno. Next ConFab is 6pm Thursday, August 14th.

Schedule:

  • 6:00-6:30: Gather, get food and beverage, find your seat, settle in.
  • 6:30-6:45: Welcome, updates, overview.
